NEW SINGLE // Valentines Single: If That Isn’t Love

I know I’ve been a bit late announcing this, but my new Valentines single is out this week. Tomorrow, in fact!

This release is a lot more involved than my last. It will include two remixes and a B-side, as well as two instrumentals.

Maxi Single Format

My aim was to create a sort of ‘maxi single’ that had lots of extras. I want to be able to produce a little more content with each release. Also, I want to be able to write, record, and release new songs without making and marketing a specific album or EP for them.

B-Side

The B-Side, Don’t Wanna Be Touched is only a couple of months old. It’s really refreshing to go from writing to recording and producing so quickly. It’s pretty much the opposite of what I had been doing before: writing a lot, waiting to find a selection of songs that match in some way, making a list, then never getting any of it finished.

But to that I say: no more! I’m tired of sitting on a big ol’ back catalogue that never sees the light of day, then goes stylistically stale. I also don’t want to make the mistake of ‘working on an album’ for months and months but then feeling like I have to cease work on anything new in order to focus on completion.

Anti-Valentine

I’ve never released a Valentines single (or many singles at all, for that matter) before, but if you know me at all, you’ll know I can’t pass up an opportunity to be cynical or ironic. If you read the discography page for this release, you see it described as an ‘anti-Valentine’. As much as it’s a song about love, it’s not a conventional happy love song. It’s a lot more about coming to terms with eventually saying goodbye to the one you love.

But as the old saying goes, ‘if you love something, let it go.’ And that’s exactly what I’ll be ‘releasing’ with my first Valentines single.

See you tomorrow with brand new music!
